Jaan Luik is a classical sculptor, but he has been always interested in drawing. His early works are dominated by stylised, elongated figures. In later years he extended his expression to the world of signs and symbols, which constitute a starting point for his abstract sculptures and drawings. Luik´s anthropological interest is allencompassing: his works are not only about the present but about humanity in general. The stories he wants to tell through his works are carefully hidden behind the artistic expression.
